Rabbit Island Glamping

Close to the Rabbit Island Huts, but so private.

Rabbit Island Glamping

The Glamping Tent is private from the Huts with their own bridge and is suited to one couple. Glamping is luxury camping

Glamping Tent (1 x Queen Bed)

Just 25 minutes to Nelson city, 10 minutes from Mapua and 300 metres from the Great Taste Trail, this is a fun-filled and delightful way to experience the Nelson and Tasman region.

The Rabbit Island Glamping tent is situated close to the Rabbit Island Huts, but separated by a little bridge that crosses a pretty wetland area.

The tent has its own fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and is heated for all year comfort and a luxury bed & lounge area. Your luxury bathroom is shared with three of the Rabbit Island Huts (two very luxurious bathrooms)  and outdoor bath and shower area.  There is also a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area available to you if you want to cook up a storm.

Our glamping tent is canvas over a timber frame, set on a hard wooden floor. It has a very relaxing feel and is the perfect camping holiday while giving you all the luxuries of home. If the wind gets up you get the sense of being on a sailing ship (all genuine flapping of sails). Enjoy the noise of sheep, Pukekohes and sometimes the shepherds dogs as they get ready to do a early morning check of the sheep.

The glamping experience is very self-contained and private,  so you can choose to relax in your own company - or you'll also have the option to mingle, and join other guests for a glass of wine and a chat around the communal campfire.

The accommodation is set on 25 acres of Waimea Plains land, beautifully located for peace and quiet. 360 degree views of mountains, the Richmond Ranges and the Waimea Estuary stretch out around you. The Great Taste Cycle Trail is 200m from the property so you can bring your bikes and explore the various wineries and craft breweries in the area. Or just enjoy the beautiful Rabbit Island beach on foot - 1.5 kms down the road.

There is plenty to do on and around the property, but if you'd like to get further afield, the Abel Tasman National Park is just a 45 minute drive away. The crafty types will enjoy the arts and craft trail and markets of Nelson, and the foodies will love the great quality cafes and restaurants of nearby Mapua Wharf, not to mention the craft beer and wine tasting in the local area.
